Lucia (loo-see-ah) aka Lu Chavez, is a New York City based performer born and raised in the marvelous Mexico City, Mexico. Big city gal!! Being born to a colorful and loud Mexican family of scientists, Lu was always the pink and sparkly unicorn that wanted to perform, dress, and sing at the top of her lungs to all her family members in the living room. After attending an international school in Mexico City, baby Lu packed up her bags and moved to the United States to pursue her dreams and recently graduated with a BFA in Musical Theatre under the direction of Kaitlin Hopkins. She also pursued a second degree in Psychology (yes, she drinks a lot caffeine) along with a minor in entertainment studies.

When not jamming to her favorite reggaeton songs, Lu is photographing her friends (@fotobylucha), dog mom to her sweet Goldendoodle Camilo (named after her favorite reggaeton artist, duhh), never missing a Formula 1 race, adding to her cart but never actually checking out, or watching stand-up specials on Netflix.

Even though she dearly misses her country, Lu couldn’t be happier and more inspired by her experience in the US. Immigrating has amplified her respect, inspiration, and motivation coming from all the people that just like her, decided to take a leap of faith and pursue their dreams away from home.
