Lately…

At the end of 2023, Lu participated in the pre production for SUFFS written by Shaina Taub and directed by Leigh Silverman. In this pre-pro, Lu got to work with the creative team lead by Mayte Natalio with whom all choreography of the show was staged and prepped for the Broadway rehearsals.

Lu participated in the New York City staged reading of The Life of Death written by Joey Orton, Brad Silnutzer, Petro AP, Scott Hoying, and directed by broadway director Sammi Cannold. Lu was so happy to share this reading with colleagues Andrew Barth Feldman, Jessica Vosk, and Mackenzie Meadows

Lu recently made her directorial debut in May 2022 by directing the Award-Winning play Red Card written by Andrea Olmos Tejado and was performed at Texas State University with the Jeremy Torres Theatre Lab. Red Card tells the story of immigrants which is why Lu couldn’t feel luckier and prouder of telling this intimate and raw story to the world. The show was reviewed and published on Broadway World.

Directorial Debut

El Nogalar

In September of 2021, Lu starred as Valeria Texas State University’s production of El Nogalar directed by Ana Skidis Vargas and written by Tanya Saracho. This production was the first fully Spanish-translated version of the show and first-ever subtitled production at Texas State University.

On April of 2021, Lu performed as Martha in Texas State University’s COVID production of Spring Awakening directed by Tom Delbello. The Production was part of a fully masked and COVID- safe season and the first musical back after two semesters of no productions. Videos can be found on youtube TXSTMT or media

Spring Awakening

Before COVID hit, Lu was cast her freshmen year of college in her first ever TXST production, Guys and Dolls, directed by Tom Delbello playing Martha and the ensemble. Unfortunately, the production was never opened because of COVID, which is why it keeps a very special place Lu’s my heart.

Cinderella

In 2018, Lu starred as Ella in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella in Mexico City, Mexico directed by Mauricio Salas. This makes this production of Cinderella the first ever fully translated Spanish production of the musical.
